Long ago, as the days grew shorter and the harvest came in, our ancestors celebrated the balance of light and dark – the autumn equinox.

This turning of the wheel became known as Mabon, named for Mabon ap Modron, a Welsh god of the harvest and the “Divine Son.”

In old tales, Mabon was stolen from his mother as an infant and hidden away in the Otherworld, only to return stronger and wiser.

His story symbolizes rebirth, inner strength, and the hidden gifts that ripen in the dark.

Just like the crops are gathered now, Mabon reminds us to gather our own harvest, our lessons, growth, and magic from the year so far. 🍁
